With the first location opening in the Lower 48 in 2020, Divots Golf is one of the newest indoor virtual golf simulator businesses expanding across the Pacific Northwest. Local entrepreneurs, Victoria and Lawrence Hofmann, are excited to bring the sport of virtual golf to Anchorage.
At Divots Golf, players enjoy a fully immersive golf experience with cutting-edge, 4K compatible, E6 Connect-based simulator technology used to capture the direction and speed of each swing, making it a valuable experience whether for recreation or training. From rain to sunshine, the challenge of wind, and time of play, players can customize their virtual experience to meet their entertainment and skill level needs.
Divots Golf offers virtual simulator bays that can each accommodate six players, large screens displaying sporting events, a lounge area, and a putting green. Coupled with convenient snacks, guests will enjoy playing more than 100 worldwide courses virtually without the time constraints or financial commitment of travel, leaving more time to golf with friends and family.
To ensure they kicked off their entrepreneurial journey strong, Victoria worked with the Alaska Small Business Development Center in Anchorage. From legal, bookkeeping, and marketing workshops to working with her Business Advisor Julie Nelson on financial projections, the business plan, structuring, and accessing capital, the Hofmanns are building a strong foundation for their business.
The Hofmanns, who are passionate about entrepreneurship, the game of golf, and most importantly their community, are sure to have a fulfilling career as small business owners and the Alaska SBDC is proud to have played a part in this story.
