It is a well-known fact that creating a successful business can transcend international borders and languages. This fact certainly came into play when Thanee Morales Cabrera and Alan Owens met with Fairbanks Center Advisor Jade Greene at the Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in the Fall of 2021 to create a Drug and Alcohol Testing Company.
Thanee, starting in 2014 as a U.S. Department of Transport (DOT) certified collector and medical review assistant, honed skills in accurate reporting and data handling with an unwavering commitment to privacy and precision. Advancing to a Third Party Administrator role in 2016, Thanee and Alan excelled in managing comprehensive testing programs and maintaining meticulous records, which are essential for client audits.
Alaska Testing Logistic LLC provides services focused on workplace drug and alcohol testing and compliance solutions in Fairbanks. Their offerings include on-site testing services for the DOT and non-DOT programs, ensuring businesses meet regulatory requirements and maintain a safe workplace. They also provide program setup, record-keeping systems, and comprehensive training for employees and supervisors on drug and alcohol policies. Additionally, they offer secure database storage and hard copies of test results to accommodate various record-keeping preferences, emphasizing confidentiality and data security.

Thanee and Alan explained, “With the continued support of the Alaska SBDC and Ms. Greene, we are confident that we are prepared to handle any business situation. In fact, we joke with Ms. Greene that she has to continue to work for SBDC for as long as our business exists!”
