When owner Mary Campbell began plans to open her business, she put in an enormous amount of research and effort to “think outside of the box,” and identify how to best expand her therapy business to help clients in remote and rural areas of Alaska. In considering all of her licensing and permitting options, Mary chose to use methodology focused specifically on Online Life Coaching and not “therapy,” though her therapy-related credentials provide a competitive advantage in this online professional niche.
In starting her business, Mary worked directly with the Small Business Development Center in Ketchikan to make her launch a success. Of her experience, she shares, “The SBDC assisted Yippee! Life Coaching by providing licensing guidance for me to set up my business, as well as information on transferring my LLC from another state. They listened to my ideas and provided comprehensive research on pricing and the market for my business. I could have done this without them, but it would have required extensively more time and resources. Thanks to the SBDC, Yippee Life Coaching is actively providing our services through both individual and group coaching sessions, live and via the web, to support our clients in distinguishing what is important to them, and accomplishing their goals.”
