WAR DOG COFFEE COMPANY: Caffeinating our Country’s Finest and More
Located outside Anchor Point, Alaska on picturesque Knob Hill, War Dog Coffee Company began caffeinating soldiers and citizens nationally in April 2020. Owner-operators, Joe and Dana Snyder, both veterans, launched their 
coffee roasting business as a way to share stories of military heroes, both in boots and paws, through great coffee. They pride themselves on honor, service, and sacrifice with recognition and reverence, while sharing stories of integrity, heritage, and legacy of our nation’s warriors, who exert their courage in all situations, past and present.
Joe and Dana approached the Alaska SBDC in the fall of 2021, seeking guidance to obtain financing for a high volume modern coffee roaster. They worked with the Homer Business Advisor, 
Robert Green, to help secure a loan and expand their growing business. On their experience with the SBDC, they shared, “Robert Green was instrumental in assisting us with our business. He provided key information such as business plan writing, etc., that made the difference for getting us where we are today. Robert, most of all, was enthusiastic, encouraging, and professional.”
At War Dog Coffee Company, every cup of coffee has a war dog story behind it, representing real war dogs that served in wars and conflicts throughout history. Joe is a veteran of the Alaska Air National Guard and Dana is a veteran of the Coast Guard, both having honorably served our country. The Alaska SBDC is proud to have assisted Joe and Dana with direction on financing, as well as marketing, to guide War Dog Coffee Company on to the next stage of their growing business. War Dog Coffee Company has started shipping their products outside of Alaska to the Lower 48 and a website is preparing to launch.
