We love Haagen-Dazs! And Anchorage is sure in for a treat with the first Haagen-Dazs in Alaska now open at 345 W 104th Ave, Suite 200A.
It was Christina and Chris Bean’s mutual love for ice cream and visits to their favorite Haagen-Dazs in Florida that inspired these entrepreneurs to bring the first Haagen-Dazs to Anchorage, Alaska.
When Christina was little, every Friday night her dad would tell the family “let’s go for a drive,” which meant “let’s go get ice cream.” Ice cream is more than just a treat to her, it’s family time, it’s happiness. When asked about their favorite aspect of being a small business owner, Chris and Christina said “Bringing something amazing to Alaska and watching people’s excitement and happiness.”
Christina’s husband, Chris, has always loved Häagen-Dazs, it’s his go to. He loves the quality of the ice cream, and truly feels it’s the best ice cream in the world. When asked what sets Haagen-Dazs apart from the others, the answer was simple, “Quality.

Chris and Christina first approached the Alaska SBDC in January 2022 when they needed assistance with their business plan and financial projections. All of the number crunching with their advisor resulted in successfully meeting their set goals and launching the first Haagen-Dazs franchise in Alaska. Now as small business owners, they said one thing they learned along the way was “perseverance,” and they are very proud of hitting the opening day milestone.
When asked about working with their SBDC advisor, Christina said, “Ian was amazing. He was so much help with getting everything started with the business plan, financials, etc. We cannot thank him enough!”
And Alaska SBDC can’t thank Chris and Christina enough for bringing the first Haagen-Dazs to the Anchorage community!
