The Alaska SBDC CANNOT provide assistance for:

  • We cannot work with Cannabis & CBD Businesses
Our cooperative agreement with the Small Business Administration (SBA) states that our award is governed by and constituted under federal law. As marijuana is illegal under federal law, we are prevented from assisting clients who engage in its use, sale, and possession. Please see our FAQ page for referrals and helpful links.
  • We cannot provide Tax, Accounting, and Legal Support
We cannot provide professional services that an accountant, lawyer, or CPA would provide. If during an appointment you have questions that require interpretation or otherwise fall outside the purview of the Alaska SBDC, you may be referred to a local professional for further support. Please email our State Office for a list of referrals!
