Davons’ Place: A House of Heart and Soul Food

Before his untimely death in 2014, Davon Mosley encouraged his mother-in-law-to-be, Khanesia Allen, to take her skill and passion for cooking and create her own business.

She has done just that. With the support of Gathering AK in the Anchorage re:MADE building, guest chefs like Allen are featured during the week to share their specialized cooking talents. This opportunity, coupled with local support from her church, the Alaska SBDC, and the Anchorage To-Go Facebook page that gained an almost cult-like following when COVID-19 hit, has helped elevate Davons’ Place House of Soul. The wave of local support allowed Allen to increase her days in the kitchen to meet the demand while doing what she loves to do: cook for others. Read on
