Former Center for Economic Development leader to guide statewide small business support network
Anchorage, AK, 2026 – The Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jared Reynolds as its new State Director. Reynolds began serving in the role on April 23, 2026.
Reynolds brings a strong background in entrepreneurship and economic development, with experience building and supporting business ecosystems at both the state and national level. His work has focused on helping businesses grow, innovate, and navigate complex challenges, experience that aligns closely with the Alaska SBDC’s mission.
Most recently, Reynolds served as Executive Director of the Center for Economic Development (CED), where he led strategic initiatives to strengthen Alaska’s economy and support emerging industries.
“We’re excited to welcome Jared as our new State Director,” said Kendra Conroy, Associate State Director. “In my time with the Alaska SBDC, I’ve seen each director bring a unique perspective that helps shape where we go next. Jared brings a thoughtful, strategic approach along with real experience supporting entrepreneurs, and I’m looking forward to working with him as we continue building on the SBDC’s impact across Alaska.”
As State Director, Reynolds will lead the Alaska SBDC statewide network, overseeing program delivery, partnerships, and strategic initiatives that support small business development. The Alaska SBDC provides no-fee, confidential business advising and low-cost training to entrepreneurs and small business owners across the state, helping drive economic growth and resilience.
“Small businesses are central to Alaska’s economy and our communities,” said Reynolds “The SBDC plays a critical role in helping businesses start, grow, and adapt to a changing economy. I’m excited to work with the SBDC team and our partners across Alaska to strengthen that support, expand resources, and create more opportunities for Alaska’s businesses.”
Under Reynolds’ leadership, the organization will continue to focus on innovation, access to capital, and strengthening Alaska’s small business ecosystem.
About the Alaska SBDC:
The Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network, housed within the University of Alaska Anchorage, is funded in part through an $833,333 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), representing 50% of the program budget. The remaining 50%, $833,333, is provided through non-federal matching funds. Alaska SBDC delivers expert advising, practical training, and targeted resources to equip Alaskan businesses and entrepreneurs with the tools they need for long-term success while driving economic growth across Alaska.
