2025 SBDC Summit: Driving Innovation, Healthcare, & Small Business in Alaska

February 1, 2025

The 2025 Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Summit is fast approaching! Scheduled for February 28, 2025, at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Anchorage, this year’s Summit will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, and small business, providing a crucial platform for Alaska’s entrepreneurs to discover new technologies, resources, and strategies to drive their businesses forward. This event is particularly important for Alaska’s communities, where access to such resources can often be limited, and where innovative solutions are needed most.

In Alaska, small businesses face unique challenges. These include limited access to healthcare, workforce shortages, and the complexities of operating in the state. The Alaska SBDC is committed to helping entrepreneurs overcome these barriers by offering innovative solutions that can make a tangible difference.

Through our AI Resource Program, we are introducing technologies that can revolutionize the way small businesses, particularly in the healthcare sector, operate. Explore our brand new AI workshops to get started at your pace and your convenience:

At the Summit, attendees will gain access to AI-powered tools, targeted sessions, and valuable mentorship opportunities. These resources will empower small business owners, healthcare providers, and anyone interested in AI to use technology to improve patient care, streamline operations, and reduce costs, ultimately enhancing overall efficiency and sustainability. By equipping entrepreneurs with the skills and resources they need, the Summit aims to foster long-term growth for businesses in Alaska, including those in its most isolated regions.

The 2025 Summit will feature keynote speakers, expert panels, and interactive sessions designed to explore the future of healthcare, AI, and entrepreneurship in Alaska. With contributions from global and national industry leaders—such as Amazon, OpiAID, Providence, and Hewlett-Packard—this Summit will provide invaluable insights into how AI is transforming industries and opening up new avenues for economic growth.

The 2025 Summit is made possible in part by a generous $20,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation. This funding supports the development of AI tools and resources that will be showcased at the event, allowing the SBDC to extend its reach and provide cutting-edge technologies and expert guidance to small business owners throughout the state.

The impact of this event extends far beyond the Summit day. It’s an opportunity to gain access to critical resources that can significantly improve business operations, reduce costs, and ultimately create more sustainable, thriving businesses in some of Alaska’s most isolated communities. By providing Alaska’s entrepreneurs with the tools to navigate today’s competitive marketplace, the Summit aims to spark innovation and drive long-term economic development across the state.
