Inviting Small Businesses to join the Anchorage Small Business Development Center for the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s Citywide Cleanup on Saturday, May 18, starting at 9:00 a.m.!
Why join our event for Citywide Cleanup?
As an SBDC client, you know our organization supports small businesses and our community – what better way to do that than by hosting a Meet Up to Clean Up? Have you always been interested in the Citywide Cleanup but don’t have the time to organize a team? Have you been looking for opportunities to network and meet other business owners? If you need more reasons to join us, here they are: The neighborhoods around our office rarely see wide participation in this event. AND PRIZES* (see below)!
Meet Up as the Small Business Squeaky Clean Squad:
When: Saturday, May 18th, between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm
Where: Alaska SBDC Office UAA Building, 1901 Bragaw St Anchorage, AK 99508
- Enter at the 20th Street traffic light, turning in at the first left through the gate and into the parking lot.
- Look for our Meet & Greet table near the front steps! If it rains, we’ll use the lobby. We’ll have a box of the Anchorage Chamber’s orange garbage bags. Please RSVP to Ginny at ginny.grabowski@aksbdc.org so we can make sure we have enough trash bags.
- If you haven’t visited us in a while, you’ll have a chance to reconnect with your SBDC Business Advisor and meet the newest members of our team.
Bring: Gloves, grabbers, and your business cards. Safety vests if you have them. Bring friends, employees, and/or family. The more, the merrier. Many hands make light work, as they say! Water and bathrooms will be available. We already have volunteers with trucks to collect the trash and drop it off at the Central Transfer Station.
Clean Up: We’ll gather in front of the building, network, grab our bags, and head out in pairs or larger groups. We aim to pick up trash along Northern Lights Blvd., between UAA Drive and Bragaw St., north on Bragaw toward Debarr, and along 20th Avenue.

*The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Prizes—The Winners will be announced on June 2, the last day of the official citywide cleanup.

Pick up Butts & Win: Collect cigarette butts (or vape products) in a separate collection container. Snap a picture and post it on the citywide cleanup Facebook page. Remember to tag the American Lung Association in Alaska!
