Anchorage Celebrates the Opening of Alaska’s First Costco Business Center!

February 1, 2024

Get ready, Anchorage businesses! The highly anticipated Costco Business Center has arrived at Tikahtnu Commons in Anchorage, offering a treasure trove of bulk products and services. The Friday, February 2, grand opening marks a significant moment for the local economy, providing businesses of all sizes with unique features and competitive pricing.

What Makes Alaska’s Costco Business Center Unique?

Open to all; it truly does not matter what Costco Membership you have, though it’s worth noting that this isn’t the Costco we already know and love. While you won’t find the deli, bakery, or clothing section, the center has more space to cater to business and family needs where you’ll enjoy:

  • Commercial-grade Appliances: Equip your kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, coolers, and more, perfect for restaurants, hotels, and catering services
  • Office Supplies: Stock up on everything from receipt paper to printer cartridges in bulk, ensuring your workplace runs smoothly
  • Janitorial Equipment/Disposables: From concentrated cleaning supplies, tools, and paper products, there’s something for everyone
  • Business Delivery: All Costco members can enjoy local delivery to a business address, but not residential, via FedEx.

Costco also prioritizes sourcing products from Alaskan suppliers, boosting the local economy and offering regional options. On our tour, we spied several local brands, such as Kaladi Brothers Coffee, Silverhook Coffee, Alaska Chips, Alaska Grains, and Alaska Glacier Seltzer.

Products Tailored to Your Needs

The new Costco Business Center boasts 70% product diversification from its standard stores, allowing for a broader range of product options than traditional Costcos and catering to specific business needs. You’ll find a selection of concentrated cleaning supplies, snacks, beverages, paper products, and frozen items that won’t be at your go-to Costco.

Notably, there is no bakery. Instead, you’ll find pre-wrapped baked goods! This saves precious time with grab-and-go treats and is ideal for cafes, convenience stores, coffee stands, and more. Additionally, you’ll be able to fuel your bar or restaurant with a curated selection of spirits, only available in Anchorage and Las Vegas out of the 27 national Business Centers!

Pricing and Savings

As with the Costco we are all familiar with, you will also enjoy significant cost savings on essential items purchased in bulk, boosting your bottom line.

Community Impact

The Costco Business Center has also created new employment opportunities, contributing to Anchorage’s economic growth. In joining the local community, Costco also strives to support military base businesses and families, providing a convenient location and easy access to essential supplies.
