The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) is a federally-funded program intended to attract lenders & investors to help with funding businesses that can’t get conventional business loans from banks & lending institutions.
The AK SBDC is the administrative lead on the program for Alaska, and will deploy the funding to lenders and investment funds.
The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) went into effect in January 1, 2024 and impacts millions of small business in the U.S. Understanding what the Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) requires in the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report is essential for certain small businesses to avoid criminal or civil penalties for not filing or updating this report.
