The Business of Logistics
Bolding’s Enterprises is a supply chain management solution company owned by two long-time players in the field, Kristin and Matt Malone. Kristin started in the industry at thirteen working alongside her father in his trucking company, at Sourdough Express, and finally at Bolding’s. Matt began in high school working nights at Movers Inc. then spent six years at Lynden after graduating with a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. While at Lynden, Matt received several awards for his expert knowledge in the industry. The Malones purchased the business from Kristin’s father in 2010 and have continued the great work that built the company early on.
Kristin and Matt first came to the Alaska Small Business Development Center looking for business advice for expanding their business and later received assistance on their website. They worked with Business Advisor Kimberlee Hayward to create an eye-catching, comprehensive, and easy to navigate page that will help drive traffic to the business.
“Kimberlee Hayward has been a catalyst in helping to build our website. With her help we have been able to launch a website that will, in time, help increase our visibility with potential customers.”
In addition to website assistance, the Malone’s worked with Lynn Klassert on their business financials and benefitted from the SBDC’s research program.
“Lynn Klassert encouraged us to take the Profit Mastery course and has helped us in analyzing our financials to be sure we are on the right track to having a viable business for years to come,” said Matt. “He also has had interns run research reports in specific areas of interest to our business.”
Bolding’s Enterprises specializes in supply chain management for the seafood, produce, oil & gas, and construction industries. Last year alone, they moved over 500 loads with zero safety incidents.
