In 2022, Alaska Adaptable Housing, LLC (AAH) was born with a mission to revolutionize housing design, construction, and engagement right here in Alaska. The vision? Innovate, educate, and build stronger communities. We’re talking about standardized construction systems, a shared online housing design, an innovation platform, and community-led building initiatives that maximize local materials, expertise, and labor use.
With the potential of a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 1 grant, AAH will focus on developing a key component of its standardized kit-of-parts building system.
Why is this a game-changer? It means AAH will design, construct, and test a plug-and-play facade attachment system and develop an associated manufacturing plan.
