SBA Alaska District Recognizes Local Lenders as Part of Annual National Small Business Week

September 24, 2020

As major supporters of the Alaska SBDC, we are proud to join the Small Business Administration (SBA) in congratulating and thanking Alaska’s Top Lenders for their commitment and service to Alaskan small businesses.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Alaska District Office announces the top lenders of the SBA Loan Program in Alaska during Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 in four categories: Lender of the Year, Community Lender of the Year, 504 Lender of the Year, and Community Development Company of the Year.

The SBA Loan Program provides lenders with a loan guarantee which lowers the risk of lending to small businesses and enables lenders to provide financing to small businesses and entrepreneurs in situations they are unable to do conventionally.

“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our lenders. They play a vital role in financing the startup, growth, and recovery of Alaska’s small businesses. Thanks to local lenders, Alaska small businesses accessed more than $65 million in loans they wouldn’t have been able to otherwise,” SBA Alaska District Director Steve Brown said. “Congratulations to all the top SBA Alaska lenders for their outstanding contribution to the economy of our great state.”
