Blaines Art in Anchorage Closing Black Friday

November 10, 2015

Blaines Art, a well known small business in Anchorage, has decided to keep their doors closed this year for Black Friday, a day many stores often depend upon to kickstart their holiday sales. Blaines Art owner Rene Haag made the decision so that her employees could enjoy a restful day with their families. Instead, the business will be participating in Small Business Saturday, where shoppers are encouraged to go out and buy local.

Interested in joining Small Business Saturday? Take a selfie of yourself shopping small on November 28th and post it on any social media site using the hashtag #BuyAlaska. There will be a drawing to give away Buy Alaska swag and gift certificates from the local small business community.

If you’re a business interested in joining our event, please shoot an email to Lauren.Riley@aksbdc.org.
