Carl A. Propes, Jr. is the founder and sole owner of Scan Home, Inc. He is an on-site, owner-operator and is active in all aspects of the day-to-day business. Scan Home, Inc. was founded in the summer of 1983 with five containers of furniture imported from Denmark and sold at the old sports arena in Anchorage. Their objective then and continues to be offering moderately priced Scandinavian furniture to the residents of Alaska. In 1984, Scan Home opened its first store on West 36th Street in Anchorage.
