Many people think cooperatives are only used for marketing agricultural products or producing electricity, but in reality they are successfully used in a wide range of businesses. Cooperatives are used to pool purchasing power to reduce costs to member businesses, and they are used to provide services at a scale that increases efficiency and reduces costs.
This course will provide a background with what cooperatives are, and how they differ from other types of business entities, and will discuss how they have been used by businesses to reduce costs by achieving economies of scale.
