The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) is a federally-funded program intended to attract lenders & investors to help with funding businesses that can’t get conventional business loans from banks & lending institutions.
The AK SBDC is the administrative lead on the program for Alaska, and will deploy the funding to lenders and investment funds.

Session 1: Starting a Business • 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm • Dinner provided • Learn the essentials of launching a business in Alaska, including the core steps and key considerations for starting a business in Alaska. • Presented by: Ruth Wolfe, Rural Center Director, Alaska Small Business Development Center (Alaska SBDC).
Session 2: Financial Projections • 6:30 pm – 7:10 pm • Create financial projections to guide smart decisions, growth, and understand how to plan for sustainability. • Presented by: Ruth Wolfe, Rural Center Director, Alaska Small Business Development Center (Alaska SBDC).
Session 3: Business Plans • 7:20 pm – 8:00 pm • Turn your ideas into a strategic plan that gets results as Ruth helps you to create a roadmap of your business that communicates your vision and strategy. • Presented by: Ruth Wolfe, Rural Center Director, Alaska Small Business Development Center (Alaska SBDC).
Session 4: Loan Readiness • 8:00 pm – 8:30 pm • Get prepared to meet with lenders and secure funding as Ruth helps to prepare you to access funding and speak confidently with lenders. • Presented by: Ruth Wolfe, Rural Center Director, Alaska Small Business Development Center (Alaska SBDC).
