Tot 2 Teen

As a long-time Juneau resident, Katherine Brown is the proud owner of Tot 2 Teen, a new children’s resale and consignment storefront open 7-days a week in the Mendenhall Mall in the Juneau Valley!

Katherine had the idea for her business and worked with the Alaska Small Business Development Center (Alaska SBDC) in Juneau to make her vision come to life. Every characteristic of the store, every special touch of the interior, and each transaction is done by Katherine. She shared with her Alaska SBDC Business Advisor, Jennifer Adams, that as she was counting the till, she realized she was counting for herself – not for anyone else – an empowering moment as a business owner.

Alaska SBDC Center Director and Business Advisor, Jennifer Adams, shared of Katherine’s success, “I’m really proud of Katherine for doing all the foundational work to bring her dreams to fruition, such as working on a financial forecast relentlessly until it was a profitable model and working hard to find private investor financing. Katherine revised business proposals until she found one that worked!

What sets Tot 2 Teen apart is the thought and intention behind every part of the store. There is a Fuzzy Friends Adoption Arena (for stuffed animals), a safe play area for toddlers, a free “give and take” Learning Library for parents, and a free family hour with crafts, activities, and special guests held the first Thursday and third Saturday of each month. They also offer a donation pick-up service – just request an appointment and let Tot 2 Teen take care of the rest!

With a focus on community, Tot 2 Teen is making a generous impact in Juneau. Stop by any day of the week, they are open Monday-Friday, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, Saturday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, and Sunday, 12:00 – 5:00 pm. You can also connect with Katherine on the Tot 2 Teen website at https://tot2teen.net/ and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
