The Captain’s Lady

The Captain’s Lady: A Gem on Ketchikan’s Creek Street

Nestled on Ketchikan’s Creek Street, sits a charming new boutique which swung open its doors in May of 2017. The Captain’s Lady brings unique gifts, clothing, and accessories to Ketchikan, and features locally made souvenirs from the people who live in and love Southeast Alaska.

Passion and dedication fueled owner Jaimie Palmer into fast-tracking her entrepreneurial journey in the hopes of bringing truly unique and interesting gifts and clothing not just to tourists, but to the Ketchikan community also. The Captain’s Lady has worked diligently and intentionally to select products that bring character and delighted smiles to all who visit this little shop. Handmade cards, jewelry, candles, and pottery are interlaced with a beautiful selection of women’s and children’s clothing, purses, and more. As an extra special touch, customers are loving the stories connected to many of the items as they shop this precious boutique.

Jaimie Palmer of The Captain's Lady

In striving to successfully launch The Captain’s Lady, Jaimie worked one-on-one with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Ketchikan. When describing her experience she shared, “The SBDC, specifically Kimberlee Hayward, provided guidance throughout my very rapid-paced business planning. The tools provided allowed a smooth start in all phases of development and gave me peace of mind that all documents were correctly submitted. When I questioned why we were crazy enough to think this would work, Kimberlee’s guidance steered us back on course, and we are forever grateful.”

What a grand beginning it has been! Sweet surprises are just waiting to be for you to discover at The Captain’s Lady; swing in to dazzle the seafarer and landlubbers in your life! Visit in-person at 28 Creek Street in Ketchikan, or connect with the boutique on Facebook.
