New Business Sprouting Up in Wasilla
Veteran business owners Ken and Pam Fennell have a wealth of business ownership experience and a passion for horticulture that led them to expand their current landscaping endeavor to include a 10-acre garden center where Valley residents could find a beautiful selection of trees, shrubs and more ready for planting.
Even with one venture under their belt, Ken and Pam requested assistance from Julie Nolen at the Alaska Small Business Development Center. Julie was able to provide another set of experienced eyes as they worked through the financial projections and business plan to ensure the garden center had the potential to produce a consistent profit.
“The SBDC, namely Julie, brought clarity, helpful critique, and critical contacts to our business venture,” said Pam. “Although we had years of experience in the industry, Julie had additional resources that brought another level of solidity to our plans for expansion. We have to be experts in our business, the employees at the SBDC are experts at business; a necessary combination for success.“
Ken’s Garden Center, now officially open for business, has received a wealth of support and excitement from the Wasilla community. They are looking forward to next spring when they can support their customers throughout the growing season! Learn more at KensGardenCenter.com.
