Located in Juneau with a stunning view, the Alaska Academy of Advanced Cosmetology & Massage is the only cosmetology school in southeast Alaska. Owner, Kimberly Steadman has poured her heart and soul into her business in the past year: including a full construction remodel of the business space, and re-organization of the business entity with her attorney. The cosmetology academy is currently offering programs in: manicuring, barbering, hairdressing, esthetics, instructor training, and massage therapy.
The Alaska Academy of Advanced Cosmetology & Massage recommends new enrolling students obtain a manicuring license first before anything else because the manicuring program takes just 12 hours to complete! Once a student has a manicuring license, he or she can work and earn money to pay for additional classes through the academy.
Each student who enrolls in the 12-hour manicure program will also be given 5 optional classes to learn how to do professional manicures, pedicures, gel nails, silk nails, acrylic nails, and more. Students who obtain their manicurist license also find it easier to gain access to additional vocational training and funding. The manicurist course is the first step everyone who wants a career in cosmetology should take.
