Starting a business requires planning, projections, money and a lot of time. Our Advisors can help you as you prepare to launch your business, but there are steps you must take to prepare for your meeting.
1. We encourage you to attend our Starting a Business workshop
Get the important information you need to know before you start or grow your business in Alaska. This free orientation provides the “nuts and bolts” and more to help you get started successfully and is required for new SBDC clients to complete before meeting with one of our talented advisors.

2. Apply for Advising
To set up your client file, follow this link. Before doing so, please review the following steps. Ideally, you will have your business plan ready when you apply for advising!
3. Submit a draft business plan
Don’t worry we just need you to start the process, we’re not looking for perfection. Concentrate on the Executive Summary. We provide a variety of online resources and training events to help you gain a stronger understanding of how to accomplish this efficiently.
4. Upload directly to your client file
A. Log into your client file
B. Go to My Documents in the left hand menu
C. You’ll see a blue arrow and Upload click there to share your document(s)
D. Email firstname.lastname@example.org once you have completed this step.
Once your advisor has reviewed and approved your draft business plan we will schedule your confidential, nocost appointment. You can expect to hear from me directly with available appointment times.
