PitchThenPlan™ 

PitchThenPlan™ is a business planning technique that quickly translates business ideas into business plans. The goal is to clarify the business plan for the founder, resulting in a brief and simple summarization of the things that matter most.

While the SBDC has a variety of tools for writing business plans to fit our clients preferences, this tool is web-based and features tutorials, videos and a well organized format to keep your ideas flowing out of your mind and onto the page. All your work is saved online for you in a password protected site so you can come back later and finish your work when you’re feeling inspired.

The technique is broken into three phases:

1. The Pitch: Framing The Idea
   First, compile a specific set of 10 aspects to solidify your pitch, covering the essentials of the business and how it will operate.
2. The Plan: Doing Your Homework
   Then expand each aspect, developing greater details.
3. The Numbers: Bringing It All Together
   Take the money assumptions from each aspect and create a financial projection for the business.
