<p>Here are a few tips we give in general to clients for recession proofing their business which also apply to surviving what could be a tighter than usual winter.</p>

<li>Remember, cash is king</li>
<li>Continue tightening of accounts receivable</li>
<li>Stretch accounts payable</li>
<li>Review product pricing</li>
<li>Continue cost control</li>
<li>Cut back on capital investment</li>
<li>Business plan every two years in spring</li>

<ul>
<li>Budgeting every sixty days</li>
</ul>
<h3>Market</h3>
<ul>
<li>Add sales &amp; marketing goals to planning continuum – but don’t stop marketing!</li>
</ul>
<h3>Measure</h3>
<ul>
<li>How do you know that your actions, plan, budget and marketing efforts are accomplishing the desired results; you measure.</li>
</ul>
<p>A visit with your Alaska SBDC counselor will provide you the details that lie within this advice – and how it will help you to survive the upcoming winter season.</p>
